Beban is an Arabic entrepreneurship reality TV show that premiered its first season on Shahid’s streaming platform (part of MBC media group), alongside Bahrain’s National TV. Beban provides participants with a platform to pitch their growing businesses to a panel of regional investors.The project began with naming the show and creating the brand identity, which then expanded to creating essential animation assets, designing merchandise, generating social media content, and bringing the brand to life through a physical promotional installation accompanied with animation & sound design.

It was important to create a distinct brand positioning for Beban, considering that the concept of the show has been done before internationally, it was important for us to find a differentiating factor that allows it to stand out amongst the competition by following a cohesive theme that the audience can relate to.In order for us to be efficient, save time and ensure we are on the same page as the client, we insisted on conducting a briefing and strategy discovery session with all the teams involved in creating the show. The session resulted in a solid written strategy for everyone involved to follow in creating the show, a clear timeline, and specific expectations.
Naming the show was our top priority, which our client communicated that it had to be Arabic to identify with the region, local to represent Bahrain’s culture, catchy for the new and old generation, and simple to ensure the name resonates with the audience.And so we called it Beban, an Arabic word that translates to ‘Doors’, linking it to multiple different opportunities given to both the business owners and investors.
There is a local saying لكل مجتهد نصيب that embodies the meaning of
“For every diligent is a fortune”,
but we believe that there is more to it than luck.We believe in opportunities, and that we each have a unique ability to seize them.Every opportunity is an open door that can lead us to our highest ambitions; our full creative potential. This is why we were inspired to create our version of the saying: لكل مجتهد باب “For every diligent is a door”.
